« in which we cut our losses | Main | detroit disco, july 1 »
in which the desire to fit in here is less strong
July 1, 2012
A conversation, in line at the variety store ten minutes before the start of the pre-game show:
Guy behind me: Who is going to win the match today?
Me: (grinning, tapping the crest on my Spain jersey)
GBM: I hope so. . . might help keep things calm on Erie Street*.
Me: In no way is it going to happen like that.
Now it’s half time and Spain is up 2-0 over Italy. I kind of wish I could run over to Erie Street just to see what the mood is like over there, except I also don’t want to go anywhere near the place.
