morning workout playlist
July 27, 2011
It’s probably painfully obvious, when looking through what music is on my mp3 player, that I will be turning 40 in a few months’ time.
Also there was Me Mom & Morgentaler’s No More Nervous Breakdown, which I can’t find a video for.

workout update / monday workout playlist
July 4, 2011
Last week was a total write-off in terms of finding time and energy for the gym, and in fact I only made it there one day (ONE. DAY.). There was just too much other stuff going on, and my time management skills, well. I do not really have those, I’ll just tell you that straight up.
Monday June 27 Warm up: a ten-minute run.
Once through the circuit of weight machines:
-leg extension, 70lb, 12 reps
-leg curl, 80lb, 13 reps
-lateral pull down, 135lbs, 12 reps
-chest fly, 80lb, 13 reps
-chest press, 80lb, 12 reps
-shoulder press, 40lb, 12 reps
Cool-down: 10 minutes brisk walk on the treadmill.
Tuesday and Wednesday were spent making Super Awesome But Maybe a Little Too Labour Intensive practice jerseys for some of the Brawlers in advance of our exhibition bout on Wednesday night, which happened during our normal practice time and so I didn’t get any skating time in. Thursday was spent in waiting for stone deliveries, a physiotherapy appointment and preparing the backyard for the patio project; on Friday the gym was closed for Canada Day and we spent it all digging and hauling sod, then shoveling and hauling gravel, then hauling rock. Which I guess is a workout.
Here is the playlist from today’s workout, just what came up randomly on the mp3 player from the rather small selection of songs (the thing was a gift-with-purchase for signing up as a Bell South customer in 2005 and only holds 50 songs, and I’ve had to remove a lot that turned out to be inappropriate in tempo for exercising to) (seriously, who puts Nazi Punks Fuck Off on a workout mix? MISTAKE).
1. Phantom Limb – The Shins
2. Girls on Film – Duran Duran
3. Tournament of Hearts – The Weakerthans
4. It’s The End of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) – REM
5. Shaking Through – REM
6. Crazy – Pylon
7. In Between Days – The Cure
