Hello! Sorry for the off-topic comment–couldn’t figure out how to send a message to you otherwise–found your blog by chance, while looking for something entirely different via Google ;)

So first of all, I wanted to say that your artwork is really neat.

Definitely, and more in my giant pile of photocopies on the table. I was mostly looking at Edward Topsell’s Historie of the Four-Footed Beastes and Aldrovandi’s Monstrorum historia (I think I’m going to be calling this upcoming show “a history of monsters”, in fact), but a lot (perhaps all?) of the engravings in the Topsell are collected from other sources, Gessner included.

Also, I love that you asked me that. NERD UNITY. <3

oooh, i’ve done that. i went for intravenous sedation bc i didn’t want to pay for an overnight in hospital. apparently i screamed through the entire thing, although i don’t actually remember. maybe that makes it ok …

I’d wear it! But agree with first comment. Pockets! Maybe side seam ones if you don’t want patch ones to mess up the look.

The neck seems plain in comparison to the activity going on below: the eye is drawn down the vertical and the focus is on bottom of dress. If you print the lace design, what if you just add that design near the neck? But of course, if you have a great necklace or fantastic hat, the plain neck would nicely set the stage and draw the eye back up.

Absolutely lovely dress whether or not anything is added.
